IRGC Commander : Enemies Do Not Dare To Target Iran

Tehran, Feb 9, IRNA - Commander of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohammad-Ali Ja’fari said on Monday that the enemies do not dare to target the country.

Speaking for a group of commanders and personnel of Basij (volunteer forces) in Tehran, he said that US troops have surrounded the country with their maximum military might but they do not dare to take any military action against Iran.

The US has brought its forces to the region to force Iran to change its course of action but to no avail, he said.

The fact is that the Islamic Republic of Iran has turned into an island of stability and security, said the IRGC commander.

There is no country like Iran in the world to be completely surrounded by its enemies while at the same time managing to bring them all to their knees, he said.

Western countries have resorted to any means and tricks to persuade Iran to give up its peaceful nuclear program but the country which is under full economic sanctions and military siege has remained committed to its principles, he said.

The mission of Basij and IRGC is to safeguard and protect the invaluable achievements of the Islamic Revolution, he said.

Basij and IRGC are in full combat readiness to foil plots hatched by the enemies, he said, adding that these forces are also ready to thwart any cultural onslaught.

IRGC forces should keep up with new scientific developments to fully protect the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, he said.
