June 28 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared on Monday 28th of June that his country has closed its airspace to Israeli flights after deadly massacre committed at Mediterranean sea onboard Mavi Marmara aid ship by Israeli commandoes.Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters in Toronto that Turkey imposed the ban after the May 31 raid on a Turkish ship that was part of a six-vessel international aid flotilla, according to the state-run Anatolia news agency.
As a response to Israeli massacre committed onboard Mavi Marmara, Turkish authorities decided to decrease ties with Israeli occupation authorities.
Turkish authorities prevented Israeli planes from flying over Turkey and stopped military drills with Israeli occupation forces. As well as, they withdrew Turkish ambassador from Israel as a response to 31st of May deadly attack.
The massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces took place at international waters of Mediterranean sea in 31st of May 2010 and caused of death of 9 Turkish activists and injuring many others on board Mavi Marmara aid ship.
The "Freedom Flotilla" was consisting of six aid ships were sailing to Gaza to break the Israeli siege imposed for political reasons to punish Palestinian people collectively for his democratic choice represented in Hamas movement.
Erdogan declared that "We will not turn back to Israeli crimes in Gaza".
Hamas and Turkey refused Israeli self investigation over the bloody attack against innocent activists on board aid ship Marmara.
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Hania mentioned later in this month that :"Israeli self investigation is a misleading procedure" aims to deceive the angered international community and human rights organizations.
Human rights organization and international community including Turkish government called for transparent investigation over Mavi Marmara massacre to put Israeli in its proper place. - Al Qassam website.
