War on Gaza Postponed… or Maybe a No-Return

On the materialistic military level, the "Israeli" entity hasn't been more competent than he is now. Throughout his history, since it was installed in the region in 1948 until now, for the "Israeli" military capabilities are more efficient and effective and developed from before. However at the same time, the decisions makers in Tel Aviv did not witness any weakness or deterrent in moving any of their military options against their enemies; a situation resembling them at this stage.

Weeks ago, the Palestinian resistance bombarded, from the Gaza Strip, Bir Al Sabeh (Beersheba) city and its surroundings with a developed "Grad" rocket which fell central the city.

This was considered to be an unprecedented development since the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip in the end of year 2008. The bombarded rocket was considered also a development revealing that the "Israeli" deterrence towards the Palestinians has never been present, but it is only a Tel Aviv attempt to fool the settlers themselves, before it becomes a representation for the calm situation witnessed in the past years on the Palestinian front, into showing that the "Israeli" ascendancy is the dominating on the field.

Furthermore, a couple of days ago, five settlers were killed in Etmar settlement near the West Bank city of Nablus, which triggered fear among settlers.

The "Israeli" response to the aforementioned incidents was enough to show the actual "Israeli" capability to respond, and to have primary action at the say time, regarding the "Israeli" enemies at that stage.

It was apparent, in the framework of the "Israeli" response, that the enemy's aircraft bombard evacuated facilities in the Gaza Strip, in addition to attempts to bombard ineffective sites, which the "Israeli" enemy said were annexed by Palestinian brigades in the Strip.

The "Israeli" attacks came in response to the bombards in (Bir Al Sabeh) Beersheba, and so did bombarding other sites specific for manufacturing means of combat, in a way that shows an excess of carefulness not to hurt any Palestinian civilians.

It was also significant that the response to the Etmar operation, despite the scenes of extremes, was a campaign of random arrests in Nablus, where many Palestinians not related to the incident were arrested. At the same time, Tel Aviv stressed it will respond to those who "committed the crime" through approving the resumption of settling, and building 400 settling units in the Gaza Strip and Easter Al Quds (Jerusalem). The "political response" was said to be illustrated as referred to by "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that "they fire and we build", without any decent "Israeli" military aggression.

Apparently, the "Israeli" hands are tied up and regressive. These are some factors that should be taken into consideration in clarifying lack response :

It is the first time that Tel Aviv faces operation in the stage after the ally-Arab regimes have collapsed, or the threat that others might collapse, especially in Egypt.

That holds evidence of the actual "Israeli" capability, and of the "Israeli" position regarding the recent development in the Arab world, concerning "Israel" and the collapse of its ally regimes.
It seems that the developments in the Arab world seize on to the "Israeli" decision maker, and stops him from activating any of the aggressive measures in Palestine, Lebanese, Syria, and also Iran; assuming there are actual aggressive measures against the latter.

As known for all, the Egyptians have left their silence, and the Egyptian audience has become a major factor, where its reaction regarding Tel Aviv-based decision maker should be taken into consideration. The decision maker should not irritate this audience or try to stop it, or there will be more negative repercussions on the Egyptian level over the Zionist entity, although negative repercussions are too many naturally.

Regarding the east and the Jordanian sphere, which is the most important and influential factor on Tel Aviv more than any other sphere. "Israel" is careful not to irritate the Jordanian people, who share a special relation with the Palestinians, and they are naturally quickly affected with what is happening in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The "Israeli" concerns regarding the Jordanian regime, and avoiding its collapse through preventing any street revolt on the background of an "Israeli" aggression on the Palestinians in Gaza or the West Bank, curb "Israel" from conducting any aggression; whether primary aggressive attack, or a responding aggression, like what happened after the Beersheba and Etmar operations.

At the same time, a factor observed by the "Israeli" enemy last year should be taken into consideration, which is joining the fronts together, and not separating them in any upcoming confrontation that could be aimed at by Tel Aviv.

According to what former "Israeli" Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkinazi said during the latest Herzliya Conference, few days before his term ended, ""Israel" should be prepared for an overall war in light of the changes witnessed in the Middle East, and should be prepared for war on more than one theater". He also added, "Because of this spectrum, we must prepare for a conventional war...it would be a mistake to prepare for non-conventional war or limited conflicts and then expect that overnight the forces will operate in an all-out-war". (Ynet news)

As for the "Israeli" Military Intelligence Chief, Amos Yadlin, who recently left his position, he said in a meeting for the "Israeli" government, "The current calmness on the military level shouldn't mislead us because our enemies strengthening and arming". Yadlin considered that if a new military dispute breaks, it will include more than one front, expecting that Tel Aviv city will also be a front.

On another hand, the said factors are enough to stop "Israel" from activating any aggression option towards the resistance spheres; it's clear that any new "Israeli" aggressions on the general resistance fronts, will not be confronted by the resistance fighters as a response similar to those witnessed by "Israel" for its aggressions, whether in Lebanon, or even in the Gaza Strip.
Tel Aviv is well aware that the capabilities of the resistance fighters have increased in number, accuracy and efficiency to destroy. They also have the major factor in any response, which is the will in using what the resistance fighters possess of combat means and military capabilities.

As a conclusion to the aforementioned factors; "Israel" will not attempt to launch attacks on the Lebanese or the Gazan spheres. It could be a risky conclusion, but at the same time, people should be aware that the Tel Aviv army isn't as it used to be, for before, all it needed to do is point a finger at what it seeks, and it would occur without any efforts.

The factor of deterrence engraved in the Arab awareness has gone, and moved to be engraved in the Zionists themselves.

E.Q.B: Al Mabhouh blood will not be wasted

Al Qassam Brigades, military wing of Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, blamed the Zionist enemy for the assassination of Qassam commander Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf Al Mabhouh (50 years) from Jabalya camp, northern Gaza Strip.

The Brigades confirmed that the Zionist enemy will not go unpunished, and brigades will publish some details in the proper time.

They added, in a military statement on Friday (29 / 1): "The Zionist enemy continues its crimes against all those who fight for Palestine, and violates the sovereignty of all the Arab and Islamic countries.

The brigades said, in the martyrdom statement, that Al Mabhouh was exiled far from home in 1989 after a great effort in the field of resistance; he was one of the founders of Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, and he is responsible for the capture of the Zionist soldiers, "Ilan Saadoun and Avi Sportas" at the beginning of the first intifada. He was one of the first people whose houses were destroyed by the Zionist entity.

Lebanon campaign targeting "wall of shame"

The Campaign to Stop the Wall of Shame, a newly-formed activist movement based in Beirut, Lebanon, held a press conference this morning to publicize the Arab Contractors construction company's role in the building of an underground steel wall along the Egypt-Gaza border.

Since June 2006, following the Palestinian legislative elections, Israel has imposed nearly total closure of the Gaza Strip -- also enforced by Egypt -- preventing the normal movement of goods and people to and from the territory. A smuggling trade has emerged as a result, via tunnels running between Gaza and Egypt. Egypt's construction of the underground border wall is designed to undermine the tunnel trade, cutting off Palestinians in Gaza from what has become a lifeline.

The alleged role of Arab Contractors in assembling the steel wall was first reported by Al-Jazeera and Egyptian journalist Lina Attalah. Local sources identified the Egyptian company by name. According to the BBC, the wall's steel panels were engineered and manufactured in the US. Press reports also implicate French engineers in the construction of the wall.

The campaign has attempted to independently confirm the company's role in constructing and assembling the wall. After an initial call to the company's Cairo headquarters, activist Abir Saksouk-Sasso sent a letter to the company on 8 January 2010. On 12 January, activist Rania Masri received a call from the Egyptian Embassy's Consul General in Beirut, Ahmad Hilmi, who said of Arab Contractors' role in the building of the wall: "It is an Egyptian government company, and [building the wall] is an Egyptian decree."

Responding to the campaign's concerns about the subterranean wall's impact on the population of the besieged Gaza Strip, Hilmi said, "We have never hurt Palestinians." He added, "All Palestinians -- each one -- in Gaza is fine."

The American engineers who allegedly designed the wall plan to saturate the Palestinian side with salt water through subterranean pipes and channels. Deep water irrigation will diminish the structural integrity of the tunnels, causing them to collapse. When asked about the plan's potential environmental impact on the coastal aquifer, Gaza's source of potable water, Hilmi said, "There have been no studies on the effects of the plan."

Arab Contractors is owned by the Egyptian government and operates in 29 countries in the Arab world, including Kuwait, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, Palestine (in Gaza), Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Sudan. According to sources in Gaza who declined to be identified, the Palestine branch of the company is basically defunct owing to the Israeli and Egyptian siege on the territory.

According to its website, the company was founded in 1917 by Osman Ahmed Osman and led the Egyptian effort to build the Aswan dam, completed in 1970. Over time the Egyptian government exercised greater control over company management. In 2001, it ousted Ismail Osman from the Chief Executive Officer post. The Egyptian government owns the company today.

During today's Arabic-language press conference Saksouk-Sasso stated on behalf of the campaign: "The wall of shame is the latest in a series of official measures undertaken by the Egyptian government to besiege Gaza. First, the Egyptians closed the Rafah crossing into Egypt. The Palestinians dug cross-border tunnels to ensure their basic survival in response. The Egyptian government then demolished many of those tunnels and inundated them with gas to kill the tunnel occupants -- this is according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. The third development was the Egyptian government's refusal to allow caravans carrying humanitarian supplies to pass through the Rafah crossing to Gaza."

Activist Baha'a Al-Kayyali explained why the Arab Contractors company became the campaign's target: "Our newly-created group ... regards itself as only one segment of the outraged Arab and global response to the criminal action of the Egyptian regime. After conducting research ... our group identified Arab Contractors as being partly responsible for building the wall. This company has two offices in Lebanon. And while we welcome anyone who seeks to improve Lebanon's deteriorating infrastructure, [that work] must not come at the expense of the Palestinian people or any other people."

Activists pledged to pressure Arab Contractors and by extension, the Egyptian government, for their role in the siege of Gaza. "Arab Contractors is more vulnerable and more capable of being influenced than the Egyptian government ... But one protest, one press conference, one article will not be transformative and will not cause dramatic policy shift. Our actions must be measured to have an additive effect. This is one more step in a long journey."

US congress call Obama to end Gaza siege

54 members of Congress sent a letter to president Barack Obama urging him to pressure the Zionist entity to end the siege on Gaza. Peter Welch, of Vermont, was one of the 54 members of Congress that signed the letter.

The members expressed their deep concern about the deteriorating situation in the Gaza strip due to the unfair siege imposed by the Zionist entity, noting that there is an urgent need to left the siege as it endangers the life of more than 1.5 million civilian living in a very bad conditions and suffers lack of basic materials.

Parts of the letter:

The unabated suffering of Gazan civilians highlights the urgency of reaching a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and we ask you to press for immediate relief for the citizens of Gaza as an urgent component of your broader Middle East peace efforts. The current blockade has severely impeded the ability of aid agencies to do their work to relieve suffering, and we ask that you advocate for immediate improvements for Gaza in the following areas:

- Movement of people, especially students, the ill, aid workers, journalists, and those with family concerns, into and out of Gaza;
- Access to clean water, including water infrastructure materials,
- Access to plentiful and varied food and agricultural materials;
- Access to medicine and health care products and suppliers;
- Access to sanitation supplies, including sanitation infrastructure materials;
-Access to construction materials for repairs and rebuilding;
- Access to fuel;
- Access to spare parts;
- Prompt passage into and out of Gaza for commercial and agricultural goods; and
- Publication and review of the list of items prohibited to the people of Gaza.

The humanitarian and political consequences of a continued near-blockade would be disastrous. Easing the blockade on Gaza will not only improve the conditions on the ground for Gaza's civilian population.

The letter ended with signatures for 54 members as well as several prominent Israeli human rights and lobbying groups.

It is worth to mention that the last war on Gaza blew the lid off Israel's rationale for the occupation as the congressional visits to Gaza has exposed them to the realities of the conflict and what Gazans encounter on a day-to-day basis.

The Palestinian Resistance Is Abide By International Law

The judge Dia Al Madhoun, the head of the Central Committee of the document and prosecute Zionist war criminals, confirmed "The Palestinian resistance which exerted resistance operations as firing rockets and mortar shells against Zionist occupation forces and all military activities, is a legitimate means in the international law to defend our people and in order to liberate the occupied territories, by that, we achieve the right to determine our destiny."

"The Palestinian resistance in several sites has confirmed that they abide by the rules of international law and draws fire rockets and machine to the Zionist military objectives such as Zionist tanks basis, artillery, and military airports. Also, it targeted sites of Zionist forces groupings which prepare to storm the Gaza Strip. "

In an exclusive interview with Al-Qassam Website, he said "The Palestinian people are still living under occupation; the international law has ensured the right of the peoples to resist to defend itself and to liberate their land from the aggression of the occupying forces."

He noted that all the rules, laws and decisions of the international community support the Palestinian people, the text of a resolution by the General Assembly of the United Nations (5 / 2621) said "The occupied people has the right to struggle by various means against colonial Powers which suppress their aspirations for freedom and independence."

He says "International law has prescribed for us as an occupied people to resist the occupying enemy by all means, including armed resistance, and what the legal rules and proceed to justify this resistance is the same as what makes all the Zionist attacks in the place of international accountability, the legal basis in international law established that no legitimate defense against the legitimate defense."

The resistance takes into account the International Law

He added "The resistance was able to understand the meaning of commitment to international law, and that the occupation claims that 3 civilians were killed by the rockets of the Palestinian resistance, this allegation can be refuted by two things, first is that rockets of the resistance is not accurate in hitting their targets, therefore, the rockets can miss its targets a little bit.

A secondly, the Zionist occupation authorities claimed that the areas hit by the rockets of the resistance is part of the occupying power [Zionist entity], but of international law and another point of view, we believe that the "Enemy state" is an offense by transferring its civilian population to conflict areas, and reoccupied lands of others, by that, the Zionist entity contradict the international terms of reference, and imprisoned its citizens at the height of a political-military conflict, this consider as a serious violation of the rights of its citizens.

He stressed that the Palestinian resistance has exercised its legitimate right of resistance and committed to the rules of international humanitarian law and accused the occupation forces of violating the law and horrifying the Palestinian civilians.

UK Impose Partial Arms Embargo On The Zionist Entity

Al-Qassam website\Agencies - Britain has slapped a partial arms embargo on the Zionist entity, refusing to supply replacement parts and other equipment for Sa'ar 4.5 gunships because they participated in the war on the Gaza Strip earlier this year.

Britain's Foreign Office informed Zionist entity’s embassy in London of the sanctions a few days ago. The embassy, in a classified telegram to the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, said the decision stemmed from heavy pressure by both members of Parliament and human rights organizations.

The embargo followed a government review of all British defense exports to the Zionist entity, which was announced three months ago. In total, the telegram said, Britain reviewed 182 licenses for arms exports to the Zionist entity, including 35 for exports to the Zionist Navy. But it ultimately decided to cancel only five licenses, all relating to the Sa'ar 4.5 ships. The licenses in question apparently cover spare parts for the ship's guns.

The British said the embargo was imposed because these ships participated in the last war on the Gaza strip. In so doing, the British claimed, they violated the security agreements between Britain and the Zionist entity, which specifies what use may be made of British equipment.

Last week, Britain's foreign and defense ministries informed the relevant companies that they would have to cease their planned arms deals with the Zionist navy.

Ever since the war on Gaza, British MPs and nongovernmental organizations have been trying to persuade London to impose a complete arms embargo on the Zionist entity. However, the British government has rejected this demand.

In February, Amnesty International published a report on arms sales to the Zionist entity in which it highlighted Britain's role in supplying engines for Hermes 450 drones. According to Amnesty, the Zionist entity uses these drones to conduct assassinations in Gaza. The report prompted the Palestinian organization Al-Haq to file a suit against the British government, arguing that British arms sales facilitate Israeli crimes in Gaza.

In April, Foreign Secretary David Miliband informed Parliament that Britain would reexamine all its defense exports to the Zionist entity in light of the war on Gaza. A Zionist Foreign Ministry official said that since then, Britain's military attaché in the Zionist entity has requested information on the uses the Zionist entity made of various types of British-supplied equipment during the offensive.

Foreign Ministry officials said that only a small percentage of the Zionist imports come from Britain. According to data supplied by Britain's department of trade, these sales total some 20 million pounds - about NIS 130 million.

The British embargo is not expected to have any impact on the navy's operational capability. However, it has great political significance, and could encourage other countries to halt exports to the Zionist entity. The country considered most likely to be next is Belgium, which sells the Zionist entity equipment used to disperse demonstrations.

In response the British Embassy in Tel Aviv issued a statement saying, "On 21 April 2009 the Foreign Secretary issued a Written Ministerial Statement about U.K. exports to the Zionist entity which may have been used by the Zionist occupation Forces during the war on Gaza. This statement makes clear that all exports are subject to stringent controls.

"This said we consistently urge the Zionist entity to act with restraint and supported the EU Presidency statement that called the Zionist actions during operation Cast Lead 'disproportionate.' "

Large Forces Invade Jenin City, Zionist Soldiers Stole Private Belongings From Homes

Zionist soldiers seized a young man from the West Bank city of Jenin on Monday morning, transporting him to an undisclosed location.

Palestinian Authority security sources said that “Zionist military jeeps invaded the city from every directions, broke into several homes—ransacking them—while intensely firing live ammunition and percussion grenades.”

The same sources added that the young Palestinian man was identified as 24-year-old Shadi Jamil Zeidan. On Sunday, the Zionist military seized a 13-year-old boy, Tha’er Bayan Itbib, from the village of Izbat At-Tabib near the West Bank city of Qalqilia, his family reported.

Bayan, Tha’er’s father, said that Zionist soldiers detained his son while he was walking to a store on the main street in the village. The reason for the detention is not known.

The youth is being held at an unknown location. On Saturday morning, Zionist forces seized three Palestinians from Nablus and the neighboring villages of Salem and Beit Wazan.

Thirty-two-year-old Imad Abu Eisha from Beit Wazan reported the detentions, saying Zionist forces stormed his village at 3:00am and ransacked several homes before arresting a 23-year-old woman identified as Rima Abu Eisha, a student at An-Najah National University in Nablus.

Local sources in the village of Salem east of Nablus told said Zionist forces arrested 24-year-old Ali Ishtayya from his home after they raided the village. In Nablus, 22-year-old Abdullah Al-Ikir was seized on Asira Ash-Shamaliyya street after several Zionist military jeeps stormed the city.

The War On Gaza Did Not Stop

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, the Hamas spokesman, has charged that the Zionist war on Gaza Strip did not stop as almost daily raids are reported while the reconstruction efforts did not materialize yet.

Abu Zuhri in the Malaysian capital, said that his visit to Malaysia was in response to an invitation from the Islamic Party of Malaysia.

He said that the visit aims at rallying support for the Palestinian cause, to explain his Movement's positions and to expose the Zionist crimes during the aggression on Gaza.

Over five days of stay in Malaysia, Abu Zuhri held official meetings with a number of governors of Malaysian provinces, officials, parliament members and public figures.

He also met with the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim during which Abu Zuhri briefed him on the war on Gaza and latest political developments in addition to Hamas's efforts to reach a calm agreement with the Zionist occupation authority.

Ibrahim promised to utilize his local and international relations to explain Hamas's positions.

Abu Zuhri described his meeting with Ibrahim as "important and fruitful", and quoted Ibrahim as declaring support for the Palestinian people and resistance topped by Hamas.

The Hamas spokesman participated in a number of seminars and rallies on the Palestine cause in addition to press conferences and interviews with TV channels, newspapers and magazines.
